The WF Windrush Community Consortium presents
The Waltham Forest Windrush Awards 2026 are the first local awards created to recognise and celebrate individuals whose lives, achievements and contributions honour Windrush legacy and strengthen communities across Waltham Forest.
The awards are an opportunity to bring recognition to people who may have spent years supporting others, preserving culture, encouraging young people, strengthening neighbourhoods, contributing to civic life or standing alongside the Windrush community.

The awards are being developed through the Waltham Forest Windrush Community Consortium, with coordination by Skills Within Developments CIC and Great British Carnival CIC, in partnership with Bob Baker of Heritage Associates, founder of the established Windrush Awards.
They form part of the wider Windrush Season work taking place across Waltham Forest and will be promoted through Afiwe, the community publication celebrating our stories, our culture and our community.
Windrush legacy lives not only in history, but in people: in those who have built families, created opportunities, supported neighbours, carried culture forward, challenged injustice and inspired future generations.
The Waltham Forest Windrush Awards create a local space to recognise those contributions with dignity, appreciation and community pride.
