The first Waltham Forest Windrush Awards will recognise people whose contribution reflects legacy, care, leadership, civic responsibility, allyship and hope for future generations.
Nominees must be living in, working in, from, or have made a significant contribution to Waltham Forest.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognising an individual whose long-standing contribution has had a meaningful and lasting impact on people, culture or community.
Young Person Award
Celebrating a young person (under 30) whose positive contribution, leadership, creativity or commitment to others carries forward the values of community and legacy.
Legacy Award
Honouring an individual whose work, story or contribution reflects the legacy of the Windrush generations and its continuing importance today.
Franklyn Georges Civic Award
Recognising an individual whose contribution to civic life, public service or community action has strengthened Waltham Forest and supported others.
Friend of Windrush Award
Celebrating an individual who has stood alongside, supported or championed the Windrush community and its legacy through meaningful action.
